Born in Dijon, France, B-Girl Sarah Bee is a member of the all-styles, female dance crew, Zamounda.
Originally from Algeria, Sarah started dancing when she was 11 years old. At first, she had no interest in hip-hop culture until her sister started dancing with another dancer called Manuela. On one bored day in her home town, Manuela invited Sarah to join her at the dance session. Sarah went and that day everything changed for her.
Sarah's sister, her friend and dance partner, Manuela, and her first crew, Figure2style, all inspired Sarah Bee in the begin. Now, today, she shares a lot with her crew, Zamounda, mixing everything from waacking to popping, locking and house, enjoying learning from her crew-mates who she considers her family.
When it comes to her breaking style, Sarah Bee is fast, dynamic and fearless in her expression and battle attitude. And even though Sarah says that she still isn't perfect in her dance, having to practise her foundations and learn every day, when she does dance Sarah fully expresses herself, which makes her feel free.
Sarah is proud of winning the 2v2 B-Girl competition at the 2008 Battle of the Year event, with Manuela, especially as no one has defeated the Japanese B-Girls who compete at the event every year since they did. She's also proud of dancing for Madonna twice, and being able to do what she loves every day.
Sarah feels blessed to wake up every morning able to dance, travel, share, and perform as her career and lifestyle.
